Jeweled Cross Company, Inc. is a family owned and operated domestic manufacturing
company of Religious Articles. Jeweled Cross manufactures the highest
quality religious goods including Crucifixes, Crosses, Patron Saint Medals,
Religious Jewelry, Statues, Rosaries and other Inspirational and Devotional
Gifts.
Jeweled Cross was started by James S. Brennan and his brother in law, Frank
LeClair. Mr. Brennan designed and crafted the first “jeweled cross”
in 1923 for the funeral of a Religious Sister who had befriended his family.
Brennan, an Irish immigrant working in the jewelry industry in Providence,
RI, hand made a 16” Crucifix and set it with over 1300 rhinestones.
The crucifix was widely admired at the funeral of the deceased sister
and Brennan soon received many requests for duplicates.
The Original Jeweled Cross (shown here) remained in the possession of
a Religious Convent in New Jersey until 1963. The Crucifix was returned
to the Jeweled Cross Company, Inc., where it is proudly displayed today.
